The electrical power circuits serving a number of cabinets at Equinix SY5 have been identified as having a need to expand in capacity. Equinix has engaged manufacturers to supply and install additional equipment, whilst working with onsite IBX engineers and our technical team, in order to undertake the works with minimal associated risk and disruption.
During the scheduled window, we require to shut-down the power supply to one circuit breaker at a time, in order to migrate to a higher capacity switchboard. As the works will be undertaken to one circuit breaker per cabinet at a time, they will be performed without disruption to any dual powered equipment in the operational environment, though it is noted that power redundancy will be reduced to a single rack at a time, whilst the migration is being performed.
There is no anticipated impact to customer services, as all equipment is dual-powered.
The period of reduced redundancy per cabinet will be less than 10 minutes.
